Summer at Trillium Nature Center is defined by one of our most meaningful programs: our Nature Camp.

Each week, children step into a rhythm that feels very different from their everyday lives. Mornings begin with curiosity, exploring trails, identifying birds, and learning to notice the small details that most of us walk past.

As the day unfolds, they build skills, confidence, and friendships. They learn how to move quietly through the woods, observe, ask questions, and feel comfortable in nature.

By the end of the week, something shifts. They don’t just visit nature, they begin to understand it, and to feel at home within it.

Our summer Nature Camps are tailored by age group (grades K-8th) to meet your child’s unique needs and interests:

  • Explorers (K – 2nd grade): Explore nature using all five senses, encouraging exploratory growth through guided programs.
  • Adventurers (3rd – 5th grade): Experience the peace of standing in an old growth forest, running in a meadow, & dipping for pond insects.
  • Avian Expeditioners* (6th – 8th grade): Take your love of birds to the next level! Plus, receive your very own pair of Vortex Binoculars.
  • Wilderness Expeditioners* (6th – 8th grade): Learn basic outdoor skills: hiking essentials, basic first aid, finding water, fire starting, shelter building, & more.
  • One-Day Camps (K – 5th grade): Each one-day camp is different—from insects & outdoor adventurers, to ponds, forests, & birding.
