There is a quiet strength behind everything that happens here, and it comes from the people who give their time.

If you’ve walked the trails lately, you’ve seen the quiet work of these heroes. Volunteers repairing bridges, clearing invasives, mowing fields, or leading groups of eager children down a trail. Their laughter, their muddy boots, their quiet pride — these are the heartbeat of our center.

This past year, we celebrated our volunteer groups: M&T Bank, National Fuel, Five Star Bank, East Aurora High School, Moog, NYSEG, and FuseIdeas, among others. Thanks to the dedicated teams that installed new paracord and applied film window treatments at Trillium Nature Center, cleared invasives, built creatively at Fairyhouse lane, simply painted and refurbished picnic tables, and so much more. We can’t thank you enough for your support.

And if you happen to have Wednesday morning free, please come and join our long-time volunteers the Wednesday Warriors, who manage our trails, and work hard to open new vistas of the pond—creating space for wildlife and for wonder.

If you’ve ever felt the desire to be more connected, this is one of the most meaningful ways to do it. To give your time, and in return, become part of something that is growing, evolving, and making a difference.

“Every time I lead a hike or sweep a trail, I feel part of something bigger. I love sharing this land with people — and watching them fall in love with it too.”

– Kathy W., Volunteer since 2021
